Fire Studio

The Fire Studio at GMCF is outfitted with state-of-the-art infrared heating panels designed to facilitate a range of heat preferences. We offer a broad spectrum of yoga and movement classes, all taught by the area’s best certified instructors, to satisfy every early bird, lunch hour warrior, and night owl!

Prerequisites to note: Please consult with your physician if you have been diagnosed with conditions including cardiovascular disease, asthma, diabetes, low blood pressure or if you are pregnant or on certain medications.

Class Descriptions

Hot 26&2 [Bikram style]

Get ready to sweat! This therapeutic set sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises is designed to heal, strengthen, and balance the body as well as focus and challenge the mind. This class leaves you feeling detoxified and refreshed from the inside out.

Temperature: Very Hot

Simmer [Yin style]

Come find the Yin to your Yang. A slow-paced, passive, and restorative form of yoga where postures are held for an extended period of time, allowing deep fascial tissues, tendons, and ligaments to respond. The heat and humidity promote easy-moving joints. Simmer is not a power style class but that does not make it any less powerful.

Ignite [Vinyasa style]

Get lit up! An uptempo, energetic and equally detoxifying experience. Contemporary yoga-inspired movements, such as twisting, folding and balancing delivered in a progressive sequence, building to a peak posture. Class concludes with a brief but blissful moment of rest to soak it all in. Ignite is an all-levels class but some experience with flow movement is recommended.

FlowBurn [Vinyasa style]

Stretch, sweat and surrender. A powerful, energetic form of yoga where postures are linked together fluidly using the consistency of the breath as a major focus. This revitalizing form of physical fitness incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stamina in each session.

Temperature: Hot

Slow Burn [vinyasa style]

Bring balance to the body with the breath. A gentle style of Vinyasa that includes flow, balance, strength, and breathing techniques. When we slow down we relax the nervous system, we focus on our breath, & we become stronger mentally and physically. Expect a fully balanced class of forward bending, twists, backbends with opportunity for inversions.

Blaze [Ashtanga style]

Master this moving meditation. A vigorous set sequence of postures linked together with deep rhythmic breathing and focused attention includes sun salutations followed by a standing then seated series. The memorization and repetition of the sequence and internal focus helps to bring the mind and body into harmony and creates a deep state of concentration. Over time you will become strong and flexible and learn to do seemingly impossible things.

Spark [Buti Style]

Discover something secret and hidden deep inside. A blend of traditional yoga and tribal dance, this all-in-one workout combines dance cardio bursts, deep core conditioning, and flexibility to transform your body from the inside out. The beat-blended movements force you out of your head and into your body.

FireWork [Budokon style]

Seek a higher level of mobility. A mixed movement practice unifying yoga, animal locomotion, mobility, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and calisthenics. A larger mat is used to explore our range of motion, develop support around every joint, and expand our capability for fitness. Movements are introduced and combinations are developed over the course of the class. Focus is placed more on the transitions between postures rather than holding the postures themselves.

Radiant [hatha style]

Breathe and be still. A gentle introduction to the most basic yoga postures. A moderately paced class that incorporates stretching, breathing, and mindful movements designed to increase energy and flexibility. The perfect compliment to more rigorous activities, or for those who prefer a lower intensity workout.

Target your body’s “powerhouse” – your core. This moderately paced class utilizes rhythmic sequences of low-impact mobility and muscular strength movements in order to improve muscular symmetry, alignment, posture, core-strength and flexibility.
