We were stunned as we opened a nondescript envelope to find a sizable check from the Montpelier Development Corporation. Alongside the contribution to our business was this wonderful card honoring local businessman, Michael Nobles, who recently passed away in a tragic accident in his Plainfield home.
Many of us had connections with Michael and to see this generous donation coming from an organization that he helped support brought home the fact that there is nothing better than being a Vermonter. Our communities are so tight-knit that the sadness from one walk of life can be immediately felt as a ripple of goodness in another.
The mandate of the MDC for these funds is to help businesses signal to the public that they are open and ready for business, so we will be using this contribution to develop signage and marketing around our new downtown location. With this help we can better spread the word that GMCF Downtown is there to embrace the movement needs of our community.
Thank you for everything you did, Michael – your legacy of kindness is deeply felt by our GMCF community.
