Indoor Cycling… But Outdoors. The Tent Is Open!

This morning cycling instructor Joe McCarthy led us on a great ride in GMCF’s latest classroom addition – The Tent! Thanks to a generous equipment donation from our Building Manager, Tom, we are now blessed with the ability to ride spin bikes in the safest possible environment… outside. Joe’s calm guidance took us through our hour of riding at 6 am with a great playlist and even better company. On Thursdays at 7:15 am we have Ann Ripley leading Cycle + Strength with 30 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes working some basic strength movements. These two classes are the official launch of our Cycling program at GMCF with new classes and instructors coming down the pike.

The decision to open up this outdoor classroom, alongside our other outdoor classroom used by Mike Rossi and his Extreme Fitness group as well as Zumba and GMXFIT, is to make sure that all of our members can find a place in our schedule where they feel safe. We know that some of you are still not convinced that the new Fitness Barn is where you want to exercise right now. So we hope that the tent, with sides rolled up and breezes rolling through, is going to be the place that feels safe for you and your workout. So give it a try – register on ClubReady and if you’re not currently a class-goer, speak with our staff about affordable ways to add classes to your membership.

And thank you, Joe, for a wonderful morning class!
