…comes from some other beginning’s end. We have now officially closed up shop at 654 Granger Rd., the space that carried our organization for the last 9 years. We have countless memories from that building, starting with the build-out where we took an empty office space and turned it into a full-fledged CrossFit gym complete with tenant spaces, an exercise studio, a cycling room and the makings for a cafe. Many late nights and long days went into those walls, and countless hours of volunteer work was bestowed upon us to make that heavy lift.
As the space down the hill empties, it is a good time to reflect on what it is to build community. While our membership grew, more importantly our sense of place in central Vermont began to solidify as strong bonds began coalescing some of the most amazing people in our area. Lasting friendships were struck, relationships were started (some even leading to babies!) and milestones ticked off for all of our members in the form of PRs, moments of celebration and social events that supported our needs as human beings.
And now the new beginning is happening around us. In a week we will be holding our first GMXFIT class in the new building and new milestones will begin to accumulate. We are so excited see what this next chapter brings, and although we can’t predict the future with much certainty these days, one thing for sure is that our community will continue to grow in new and exciting ways.
So here’s to the past, present and future of GMCF – Stronger Together!
