What is the Open Door Fund?
In 2018, Green Mountain CrossFit lost one of its loyal members, Andrew McHugh, but his legacy of kindness lives on through the Open Door Scholarship Fund. This fund is dedicated to opening the doors of Green Mountain Community Fitness to people within our community who have the desire to participate in our programs but lack the financial capacity to do so.
The Open Door Fund has been established to support our mission of expanding fitness opportunities in central Vermont. We offer a wide range of scholarship options for applicants and would like to know more about you to better apply our resources. Each year we hold fundraising events to replenish our fund so our ability to offer assistance can vary. But for the most part we can guarantee some level of assistance for all who apply!
How do I contribute?
We run annual fundraiser events to generate income for the fund and to create an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate each other!
We also offer the option to make a one-time contribution, as well as a recurring contribution.
To make a one-time contribution, or if you’d like to set up a recurring contribution, please email Sara Kruger, our fund manager.
How do I apply?
To begin the process (which is very short and does not require any financial verification) please submit the application form below.
Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis (the third Wednesday of each month). You will receive notification regarding the level of assistance the program is able to offer you. Upon acceptance, your scholarship agreement will begin on the first of the following month.
About the Open Door for Swim Lessons process:
In addition to membership scholarships, we offer a limited number of Open Door Swim Lesson scholarships for our group swim lessons, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the current session is full, you will be added to a waitlist and given priority for future Swim Lesson sessions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so feel free to apply anytime. We will reach out to you before registration opens for the next session to update you on the status of your scholarship application. You will receive a 25% or 50% scholarship off the price of swim lessons based on your need.
