Green Mountain Community Fitness is proud to offer GMCF Masters Swim, a workout class open to adult swimmers looking to build fitness and technique in a group setting with some of Vermont’s most accomplished athletes.
If you’re an adult lap swimmer who would like to improve your endurance, skills, strength, and knowledge, GMCF Masters Swim is the program for you!
This class is open to proficient swimmers of all levels; workouts are scaled to ability. If you can swim 50 yards (2 lengths in the pool), you can attend Masters Swim at GMCF.

About the Coaches
USA Triathlon Hall of Fame inductee Donna Smyers is a highly decorated triathlete and experienced physical therapist. She specializes in problem solving for casual and competitive athletes and anyone trying to stay active. Donna applies knowledge gained from training and competing to enhance her physical therapy practice, coaching and triathlon camps.
Jessica Bailey is a former Division I Ivy League champion in the 100yd backstroke. In 2023 she ranked in the top 10 in US Masters Swimming for the 100yd backstroke In addition, she is an active open water swimmer, completing her first marathon swim in 2023, and triathlete. She enjoys helping others improve their swimming technique and teaching her two children the ins and outs of all the strokes.
2x USAT Long Course Clydesdale National Champion Steve Maas is a certified US Masters Swimming coach and an experienced triathlete. He enjoys supporting adults of all abilities in achieving their goals and facilitating personal growth. He is GMCF’s Aquatics Coordinator and also offers customized remote coaching, video swim analysis and personalized training in the pool.
Current Class Information
Please be prepared to bring your own towels to practice, and to have indoor footwear to change into (no outdoor footwear on the pool deck!) Please note that electronic devices are not permitted on deck.
