Green Mountain Community Fitness (GMCF) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the USA Swimming Foundation. This generous support will directly benefit GMCF’s Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) program, allowing the organization to offer high-quality swim instruction to adults at a significantly reduced cost.
“This grant enables us to expand access to life-saving swim skills in our community,” said Steve Maas, Aquatics Director at GMCF. “Many adults have never had the opportunity to learn to swim, and this funding helps us remove one of the biggest barriers—cost.”
The ALTS program at GMCF is designed for adult learners of all backgrounds and beginner skill levels, from those with a fear of water to those looking to improve their technique and confidence. With the support of the USA Swimming Foundation, GMCF will be able to reach more participants and ensure that swimming is accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation.
“We are deeply grateful to the USA Swimming Foundation for recognizing the importance of adult swim education,” said Cady Hart-Petterssen, GMCF Owner and Executive Director. “This grant will make a real difference in people’s lives.”
