Grand Reopening of the GMCF Aquatics Facility

We are very pleased to announce the grand reopening of the GMCF Aquatics Facility following over 11 weeks of extensive renovations. We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding from our community while our team dedicated considerable effort and resources to enhance the facility. We cannot wait for you to experience these improvements!
We are excited to inform you that the facility will officially open for GMCF members starting on August 15th featuring a regular schedule that includes lap swimming, aqua aerobics and open swim times. We are also in the process of finalizing details regarding swim lessons and will announce a series as soon as possible.
To mark this momentous occasion, we will be hosting a FREE Open Swim Celebration on August 16th from 10am – 12pm. We invite all community members to join us for this event, where you can explore the newly renovated space and enjoy some recreational swimming.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the facility and sharing this exciting new chapter for GMCF!

Dr. Kerry McCarthy, the physical therapist at GMCF Physical Therapy.
Some of you may already know me as a friend, fellow athlete, coach, personal trainer, or physical therapist. For those that don’t, I was born at the hospital down the road from GMCF and have spent my whole life in Central VT. I’ve been a physical therapist since 2008. I’ve developed a passion for helping people heal from pain and injury using an approach that gives them tools, strategies and knowledge for a healthier, fitter, happier life.
I don’t patch people up for one more game of pickleball next week; I guide them through a program geared to create lasting mental and physical robustness for a fearless future, conquering goals in the gym and beyond.
I have found myself having many conversations about strengthening recently. It got me thinking about the tagline on all the t-shirts here at Green Mountain Community Fitness: Everyday Stronger.
There is a reason the motto at GMCF is Everyday Stronger and not Everyday Faster or just Everyday Fitter. Everyday Stronger speaks to the mission of GMCF: to foster strength in the Central Vermont community. But why strength and not cardiovascular fitness or flexibility or some other tenet of fitness? GMCF Volunteers: A Force Of Good
|
In the wake of the recent floods that devastated many homes in our community, we extend our gratitude to all the amazing individuals from our GMCF membership who donated their time and energy to assist in the clean up efforts in and around Plainfield and Barre. Together, 81+ hours of hard work and positive energy made a significant impact in restoring hope and healing. The willingness to lend a hand has not only made a different in the lives of those affected, but has also strengthened the bond within our GMCF community. Thank you for being a shining Force of Good during such challenging times.
