As we head full-force into the month of July 2025, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge some of the amazing competitive achievements and accomplishments of our athlete members over recent weeks! Our community is full of incredible performers and people, from all walks of life and a wide range of athletic backgrounds. It is amazing to see what they can do!
Jenna Jerome Represents at the Adirondack Fitness Challenge
GMCF Operations Director and Personal Trainer Jenna Jerome recently competed at the Adirondack Fitness Challenge in Lake Placid, New York. Qualifying in 8th position out of 40 qualifiers for the female intermediate division, she finished at the competition in a strong 12th place. Her efforts included a top-5 finish in the technical and hilly 5k trail run, with a time of 28:11. She looks forward to qualifying again next year, and plans to put a lot of her focus on her gymnastics skills in coming months. Congratulations, Jenna!




GMCF ENDURANCE Team Members Strong in Competition
Members of GMCF ENDURANCE have been competing in a variety of endurance events and producing impressive results! Hannah and Stephen Brown recently ran the Marathon Mont Megantic, an epic trail marathon in the Eastern Townships with over 6,000 ft of elevation gain!




Team members have been running local races, too: Jeff Soucy and Esther Erbe took on the 10k RunVermont Summer Series: First Sweat at Soulmate Brewing Company, with Jeff also joining teammates Jess Bailey and Katie Costello at the Montpelier Mile! Katie recently volunteered as a safety kayaker at the Elmore Triathlon series, and Jess competed alongside her two sons!




GMCF Strongman Competitors Hit PRs and Podiums
Marcie Weaver and Gwendolyn Johnson recently competed in USS Strongman Nationals— one of the top amateur strongman comps in the United States. They both did extremely well. Gwendolyn Johnson placed 1st place in her age and weight group, hitting some impressive numbers including a 400 lb frame deadlift and carrying a 450 lb yoke for 60 feet in 16 seconds!
Marcie Weaver also showed her incredible strength competing in one of the most competitive age and weight groups. She managed to get a personal best on all 5 competition events including 3 reps with the 400 lb frame deadlift!
Donna Smyers Delivers
Triathlon legend and GMCF Masters Swim Coach Donna Smyers competed at the USA Triathlon Multisport National Championships, taking home multiple podium spots for her efforts! She competed in the Super Sprint Triathlon (2nd in AG), the Standard Aquabike (2nd in AG), the Open Water Swim (6th in AG) and Draft Legal Triathlon (1st in AG) events, making her once again a National Champion!
