Happy New Year! Let’s Rise, Shine and Thrive in 2025.
|
This is our year to shine brighter than ever, together! 2025 marks another opportunity for us to carry out our mission to be a center for fitness in Central Vermont and to further strengthen the health and well-being of our community.
Every year for the last few years, we have set our intentions on making a positive impact on the physical spaces that surround the main fitness area. In 2023, we finished up a gorgeous studio space we call the Earth Studio which is now home to our Pilates, Yoga and various functional fitness classes. In 2024, we made some major waves inside our aquatics area which has. And now, hold on to your paddles – 2025 is about to serve up some exciting pickleball renovations that will enhance your playing experience. Not only do our plans include attention to our indoor court space, but we are also taking our efforts outside! And, since efficiency is also top of mind, we plan to utilize the space to expand our parking availability in the winter time.
Speaking of upgrades, we’re also rolling out a long-game plan to give some of our well-loved fitness equipment a retirement party. In March, Cady will be packing her bags and heading to a national Health and Fitness conference and trade show to explore the latest equipment options that could enhance our offerings and possibly replace some of our longstanding inherited machines. As we move down this road, we will invite you to join in the process as much as possible. Stay tuned for ways you can get involved as we progress.
Now, when it comes to first impressions, we are fully aware that our building might not wow you from the outside, however we hope it’s the experience that awaits you inside that truly defines us. We believe in progress, not perfection and that’s playing out as we work hard to transform this place. It’s all about the journey, the laughs, the moments, the process. It happens with the small steps we take each day together that lead us to greater health and wellness.
Thank you for being part of our community, and here’s to a year filled with growth and achievement together. Let’s continue to be Everyday Stronger!

Everyday from early morning to after dark

At GMCF we value Functional Fitness because we focus on movement patterns that humans are designed to do. In all of our FIT classes our work consists of squatting, lunging, jumping, running, pulling and pressing. We use a variety of equipment to help us challenge our capacity with these movements.
CrossFIT, GetFIT, KBXFIT, HIITFIT, OutFIT, FIT4Life, and BarbellFIT are all the classes in our FIT series. Each of these classes may highlight a particular skill, strategy or piece of equipment in it’s training. Check out the class descriptions here.
Classes are beginner friendly!!

Locker Room Towel Returns
|
APB: medium size white towels with orange or black stripes
|
We understand that sometimes our towels can inadvertently end up in your gym bag or at home. If you’ve accidentally taken a towel, we kindly ask that you return it at your earliest convenience. It’s our goal to keep our towel shelves well-stocked for everyone and we’ve noticed our supply has dwindled.

Class Cancellation Policy
|
Please register 30 minutes prior to the start of class
|
If there is no one signed up for a GMCF fitness class 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, a class is subject to cancellation. This policy is in place to help us manage our resources effectively and to ensure that our instructors are prepared for classes with attendance. Winter road conditions can be rough and unpredictable and we want to help reduce unnecessary travel.

|
|
Please remove outdoor gear off before entering the gym
|
We ask that you shed those winter boots in the lobby before you hit your workout! For your convenience, we have boot trays in both lobby entrances and in the locker rooms as well. This simple step will help keep our gym floors clean and inviting. *Before you leave the gym, please double-check to ensure you are leaving with your own pair of boots.

November Kettlebell 100 Challenge Results!

Last month, we launched a 30-Day Kettlebell Challenge, inviting participants to complete mini workouts to accumulate 100 KB swings each day. We had an impressive 30 individuals join us in the fun, with 6 remarkable finishers completing all 30 days!
Best we could tell, Ann, Dana, Harlow, Joanna, Sara and Nicole recorded all 30 workouts. Congratulations!! (sorry if we missed anyone!)
Each day featured a unique kettlebell workout, keeping everyone engaged and motivated. A huge thank you to all the participants for embracing the opportunity to explore different techniques and KB swing variations. Congratulations to our finishers – your daily dedication to the challenge and determination through the month is commendable.
