The first of 2025’s season of Elmore Triathlons was held on a windy Thursday night this week, and as usual it was a fantastic community-focused event that drew triathletes from all walks of life to the course. Spearheaded by GMCF Masters Swim Coach and multiple-time world champion triathlete Donna Smyers, this event is a unique gem in the sport of triathlon, offering newcomers a low-risk and easily accessible way to try out the sport, while remaining challenging and engaging enough for aspiring professionals to use it as a tune-up for other events. Athletes young and old, first-timers and experienced racers both have participated in the event for decades and it continues to be a popular mainstay of the triathlon scene in Vermont.
GMCF ENDURANCE Team members were on hand as volunteers, taking photos and providing safety services in the kayak, and many GMCF members completed as athletes, finding great personal and overall success.
