GMCF Coaches Donna Smyers and Steve Maas recently traveled to East Freetown, MA to compete at the Patriot Half triathlon. This race served as the 2026 USAT National Championships for Long Course triathlon, awarding World Championship qualifying slots to those athletes who were successful in their respective divisions. Both Donna and Steve executed admirable performances and found their way to the 2nd step of each of their division podiums, earning spots at the 2027 World Triathlon Championships in Edmonton, Canada. They raced on an incredibly hot and humid day and faced many challenges on course, but persevered to find success! Congratulations, Steve and Donna, on earning the right to represent Team USA!
