Build Strength from the inside out.
In this 8-class series participants will be guided in discovering their own individual relationship to the Pilates mat repertoire. Starting with pre-pilates fundamentals, each session we will move through mat work adapting as needed to provide appropriate input of varying intensity levels depending on where we are at, where we have been, and where we want to go
This Pilates series is specifically suited for athletes either with an established weight training routine, or those wanting to be more effective at the beginning of their strength journey.
The muscles involved with our joints and spinal column especially benefit, leading to better alignment, mobility and resilience. You will learn a philosophy of embodiment that gives you strength and fluidity from the studio to the weight room and into life beyond the gym. Expect to be able to access more coordination and better form under load. The increased range of motion and reduced tension in the shoulder and hip girdles achieved over time translate directly into higher quality squats, presses and lifts. You will learn how to harness your breath to help you let go of stress and move with power! Come as you are and enjoy a low-impact, full-body workout that will leave you feeling physically and mentally refreshed. No prior experience necessary.
Amelia Moyer-Perez is a certified Mat Pilates instructor. She is passionate about Pilates as it has helped her recover from pain and be able to enjoy every opportunity to swim, ski, sing, dance, push, pull and carry with gusto! She is always striving to learn new things about the amazing human body on her mission to share movement opportunities with others so they too can experience more freedom and ease in doing what they love.
