As April thaws, we embrace this season in its entirety—from the first warm bursts of sunshine (a welcome sight after a long winter of indoor workouts!) to the familiar mud squishing underneath our feet as our bodies move outside for some much-needed fresh air. The Mucker, our annual trek through Hubbard Park, should have plenty of both, and is part of Montpelier’s MudFest, April 25-26, 2026.
Exciting things are coming to GMCF: Over the next few months, we’ll be doing some equipment and machine upgrades! Last Spring, I took a trip to a health and fitness expo with a clear mission to find the right partners and gear to level up our fitness floor. If you know us at all, you know this: We don’t make decisions like this based on a spec sheet. We make them based on people, trust, and whether or not we feel like someone actually sees and values what we’re building here. We’re not a big-box gym. We’re a small, family-run, community-first place. And I needed to find companies that would treat us that way.
But before we made any big moves, we went back to something really important: Feedback from our members. In our Fitness Survey last summer, we gathered real, honest input from the people who use this space every single day to inform our choices. We hope the changes reflect what our members had in mind and if you haven’t been here in a while, we’d love for you to come in and see what’s new. Read more about our plans for the fitness floor here, take a look at our brand new cedar sauna benches, and check out our Spring referral special if you’re not currently a member and want to be!
