GMCF NEWSLETTER | AUGUST 2026
Can you believe it’s August already?!
We kicked off this month celebrating 802 Day with some fun Vermont-themed activities and challenges here at 652. Congratulations to all our prize winners, including Pat M., who won our grand prize giveaway of a sweet basket full of goodies. We feel incredibly fortunate to call Vermont home and even more fortunate to share this community with all of you.
Summer is still going strong, and so are we. Our construction off the hallway of the fitness floor is close to completion and our GMCF Physical Therapists are fully settled in to their spaces. There’s also a lot happening before we really transition into fall: swimmers are gaining their sea legs in group swim lessons in the pool and our multi-week summer series are underway: Douglas is training future competitors in the HRX READY series, Hendrik is getting his strength trainers PowerMeet READY, and I’m working with our PSST group sweating our way through midlife symptoms, helping to both power through and get powerful with each day.
Zumba with Alycia has started Friday nights and Sunday mornings, Barre with Julia on Wednesday mornings, and there’s a variety of yoga classes in both the Fire and Earth studios. Douglas, Michelle, and Harlow fire up intense cardio workouts for Ergon in the Wind studio, Paige continues to nurture the motherhood village in Ms.FITS on Friday mornings, Kerry, Linda, Michelle, and Paige keep the FIT4LIFE crowd active and ready for whatever life brings throughout the week, and Soren keeps Tuesday nights lively for our LGBTQIA+ community with OutFIT. (Of course, this barely scratches the surface of our class offerings; see our entire list of FIT, Aquatics, Studio, and Pickleball classes here!)
Read on for more on what’s coming up at GMCF, mark your calendars, and come be a part of it. We have plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself, learn something new, find your people, and have fun. Whether you’re here every day or just popping in when you can, we’re excited to be part of your journey.

GMCF Night at the Mountaineers
Congratulations to the Vermont Mountaineers for another spirited season of baseball in the NECBL League. We loved opening our facility for the players and staff to work out in between games.
Back in June, we held our sponsored game night at Recreation Field, and we were delighted to give our “junior staff member” Eddie the opportunity to throw the first pitch—and it was a heater!
